On December 21, the "2021 Chongqing University Laboratory Culture Month" event jointly organized by SYSBEL and the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Chongqing University was successfully held in the laboratory building of Chongqing University.

1. How to properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

Professionals were invited to the scene to demonstrate to the teachers and students how to choose the correct protective clothing, how to correctly put on and take off the fireproof clothing to avoid secondary injuries and so on in the face of different accident emergency scenarios. In addition to theoretical explanations, on-site students and teachers were also invited to conduct on-site practical operations, and pointed out the matters needing attention in the process of wearing protective clothing.

In the case of leakage of dangerous chemicals in the laboratory scene, let the teachers and students of the whole school deal with it proficiently. Emergencies are handled in a correct, orderly and efficient manner to ensure the safety of the lives of teachers and students throughout the school.

3. Laboratory emergency drill for flammable, toxic and explosive gas leakage

According to the characteristics of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, there may be flammable and toxic gases, flammable and explosive gases in daily experiments. This drill simulates a sudden gas leak in the laboratory and issues an alarm. The students in the drill correspond to different identities, evacuation, vigilance, rescue, first aid and other steps, so that the students at the scene can learn how to properly deal with toxic gas leaks.

Teachers and students often use scientific instruments and equipment that need to be electrified (material testing machines, tensile machines, box-type resistance furnaces, electron microscopes, etc.) in daily experiments for electric shock accidents in laboratory scenarios, and electrical equipment is also prone to corrosion and line aging due to time. The reason is easy to cause electric shock and personal injury. In order to improve the ability and level of teachers and students to prevent electric shock accidents, ensure that rescue work can be carried out quickly and effectively in the event of an accident, test teachers and students' ability to coordinate and cooperate in emergency rescue, and effectively avoid or reduce casualties and property losses. Lecturer SYSBEL organized teachers and students to conduct emergency drills for electric shock.

5. Laboratory staff first aid professional practice drill

In the laboratory or daily work scenarios, the personal physical conditions of teachers and students are unexpected, such as heart disease, suffocation, epilepsy, external bleeding, internal bleeding, fractures or sprains, burns, poisoning, etc., how to deal with them correctly, and avoid using wrong first aid The method aggravates the injury of the injured person. For this reason, the professional training instructor of Maison Medical, the partner of SYSBEL, introduced professional rescue knowledge such as AED defibrillator and cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the teachers and students on the scene.
