Since March this year, the Chinese Ministry of Education has issued several documents and notices on the safety of university laboratories. The issuance of university laboratory safety documents has brought our thoughts back to several tragic laboratory accidents. Safety incidents have alerted us and reminded us of our responsibility to do something for laboratory safety.
01 Smart cabinets make laboratory chemical storage safer
At the 2022 University Laboratory Safety Management Seminar and the 57th China Higher Education Expo held in early August, we saw SYSBEL and SYSBERY bring a series of intelligent solutions for the safe storage of laboratory chemicals. Teachers and students discussed and exchanged in-depth laboratory risk assessment, laboratory environment safety, and personnel safety issues with engineers. 03 Safe storage of chemicals
According to GB15603-1995 "General Rules for the Storage of Commonly Used Chemical Dangerous Goods", hazardous chemicals should be classified, partitioned and stored in separate warehouses. It is strictly forbidden to store together substances that could cause an explosion or fire when contacted or mixed with each other. International practice is also used to use color management and label management to identify, manage and distinguish various hazardous chemicals.

04 Chemical Transshipment
Chemical transfer is a link that is easily overlooked but can be effectively prevented. A good handling of the transfer process can also avoid many accidents. SYSBEL spill deck and multi-functional Lab spill containment pallet can meet the daily chemical transfer work in the laboratory.
05 chemical spill control
It is inevitable that some chemicals and reagents leak and spill during the experiment, which can be handled simply by using SYSBEL's professional absorbent spill kits and wiping paper. In case of spills caused by chemical bottles or laboratory cups containing chemicals, broken tubes, etc., it needs to be handled by the SYSBEL spill pallet.

06 Temporary storage of waste
During the experiment, wastes such as organic solvent waste liquid, heavy metal waste liquid, waste acid waste lye, solid waste residue, expired solid medicines, waste reagents, etc. are not allowed to be mixed and dumped at will. They need to be collected in SYSBEL waste. In the temporary storage cabinet, it will be processed regularly by qualified units.
07 Laboratory Safety knowledge training
The lecturer group of SYSBEL School of Safety Management regularly visits the laboratories of universities, hospitals, enterprises and institutions to explain safety knowledge to the experimenters, hold interesting safety games and leakage emergency drills, and comprehensively and systematically help laboratory personnel to improve their overall safety awareness and ability to deal with accidents .
