From March 29th to 31st, the 2024 University Laboratory Safety Management Seminar (Second Phase) was successfully held in Chengdu. The conference was organized by the Laboratory Management Branch of the China Higher Education Association and the China Higher Education Training Center.

The seminar aimed to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council regarding work safety. It aimed to further strengthen the safety management of university laboratories, ensure the safety of university laboratories in 2024, share experiences in safety inspections and hazard identification in university laboratories, implement safety responsibilities at the grassroots level, effectively prevent safety risks, eliminate safety hazards, and ensure high-level safety to promote high-quality development. Over 1,500 people participated in the seminar, including leaders responsible for laboratory safety in more than 270 universities nationwide, relevant functional department heads, laboratory safety management personnel, laboratory technicians and teachers, as well as representatives from 35 enterprises.

It provided strong support for improving the level of university laboratory governance and promoting the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents in universities.
