EN 14470-1 is a safety standard developed in Europe in April 2004 for the storage of chemicals. It includes three main safety requirements:

Reduce the risk of fire caused by chemicals stored in the safety cabinet and enhance the protection of these materials in case of a fire, which involves specifying a fire resistance time (FR, in minutes).

Minimize the emission of chemical gases into the environment.

Contain the leakage of chemical gases within the cabinet.

Fire Protection Performance: EN 14470-1 safety cabinets are classified based on their fire resistance:

▪ Type 15 - Fire resistance of at least 15 minutes.

▪ Type 30 - Fire resistance of at least 30 minutes.

▪ Type 60 - Fire resistance of at least 60 minutes.

▪ Type 90 - Fire resistance of at least 90 minutes.

After burning for 90 minutes in a furnace at high temperatures (1006°C), the highest temperature recorded at 15 monitoring points inside the cabinet was significantly lower than the standard requirement of 180°C. Features of SYSBEL Fire-rated Hazardous Materials Cabinets:

The cabinet is made of high-strength steel plates with a corrosion-resistant wrinkle powder coating applied via electrostatic spraying. The interior of the cabinet is lined with multiple layers of fire-resistant and heat-insulating materials to achieve fire protection.

In the event of a fire, special heat-sensitive materials at the door seams and all joints will automatically expand to fill gaps, ensuring the cabinet remains sealed.

A removable bottom sump works in conjunction with perforated inserts to effectively collect any liquid overflow from the shelves. Containers placed on the perforated inserts are kept above the collected liquid in the sump.

Adjustable leveling feet at the bottom of the cabinet allow it to remain stable even on uneven surfaces.

The cabinet includes a static grounding port for easy connection to a grounding wire.

Complies with EN, OSHA, and NFPA30 standards.
